Ched Evans future with the Citizens

By: j | January 26th, 2009 | No Comments »

While the talk around Eastlands is typically of new acquisitions, much of the young talent has been relegated to the back burner. It is swirling cauldron in my opinion and one I prefer not to think of in support of the young developing player however it is foregone conclusion that many highly quality players might not find their way through the system. As with England U19 international Javan Vidal who was loaned to Aberdeen of the SPL, Ched Evans immediate future is likely outside of the Citizens.

Just turned twenty, young Mr Evans is an intriguing talent but in desperate need of regular time on the pitch. He is unlikely to be utilized the balance of the campaign and both Cardiff City and Celtic are anxious vying for his services. While Celtic was first thought to have the inside trade, Cardiff have come in to try to steal the Wales international away.

Cardiff City chief executive Peter Ridsdale said of the matter:

“We’ve offered Manchester City two options, a loan and a permanent deal.

“We’re waiting to hear back on that one and it would be nice to get him here.

“Ched played against us last season for Norwich and scored twice so we’ve been aware of him for some time.

“He’s a Welsh lad as well and we feel he could be an asset to us.”
