Chris Coleman doesn’t care
When I first read this I’ll be honest with you, I fumbled around looking for my glasses. This old eyes can play tricks with me at times so urely I must be reading this wrong. However much to my disappointment, I’m not.
As reported in the BBC, Championship League Coventry City manager, Chris Coleman, a (proud?) Wales capped player himself, disappointed his supporters by commenting he “couldn’t care less” if striker Freddy Eastwood is ready for Wales’ opening 2010 World Cup qualifiers next month.
“I don’t care about the Azerbaijan game to be honest with you,” he said. “I couldn’t care less.
“We need Freddy fit for us for Doncaster Rovers, we signed him for a reason. I don’t care about Wales.”
The twenty-four year-old striker suffered a groin strain against Bristol City this past weekend and it will depending upon the severity of the injury can range in recovery from a few weeks to few months.
I will monitor the situation and report any updates to Freddy Eastwood’s recovery however I find this entire comment quite appalling given Chris Coleman he was strongly recommended for his last managerial job at Real Sociedad by Wales manager John Toshack.

What is really interesting about this is that the story has disappeared from the Western Mail (it was there briefly this morning). Has it been withdrawn ? Was he misquoted ?

Alan – thank you for joining me. You might have the bigger story because I wasn’t aware it being removed. I will check but I haven’t seen a retraction anywhere.
