Gareth Bale ready!

October 14th, 2008 | By: j | No Comments »

Ahead of Wednesday’s crucial match against Germany, John Toshack has good news that Tottenham’s Gareth Bale is recovered from his ankle injury and will be ready for Wales. After injuring his ankle against Liechtenstein it was first thought he would be unable to go but based upon today’s training, everything seem a go. Given that Wales is likely to employ a more defensive minded 4-5-1 using Craig Bellamy as the lone striker, Lewin Nyatanga has been called-up from the U-21’s with James Collins as another possibility.

Wales squad v Germany: Wayne Hennessey (Wolves), Boaz Myhill (Hull City), Lewis Price (Derby County), Gareth Bale (Tottenham Hotspur), Chris Gunter (Tottenham Hotspur), James Collins (West Ham), Craig Morgan (Peterborough United), Lewin Nyatanga (Derby County), Sam Ricketts (Hull City), Ashley Williams (Swansea City), Andrew Crofts (Gillingham), Simon Davies (Fulham), David Edwards (Wolves), Carl Fletcher (Crystal Palace), Owain Tudur Jones (Swansea City), Jason Koumas (Wigan Athletic), Carl Robinson (Toronto FC), David Vaughan (Blackpool), Craig Bellamy (captain, West Ham United), David Cotterill (Sheffield United), Ched Evans (Manchester City).
