grabbing points in Germany

October 14th, 2008 | By: j | 2 Comments »

Ahead of Wales match against Germany in Mönchengladbach, John Toshack will be employing a tight defensive strategy akin to their recent match against Russia. Against Russia, the Dragon’s put on a brilliant display and narrowly missed gaining a point. Wales supporters can expect a counter-attack ready, defensive net using a 4-5-1 with Craig Bellamy as the lone striker.

Die Mannschaft is dealing with the internal turmoil of Kevin Kuranyi walking out on the club. What impact has upon the club remains to be seen, although it seems Joachim Löw has dealt with it effectively and the squad is focused. Michael Ballack has been listed as questionable however the inside word is that he will be ready. For Wales to be successful they must crush Germany’s attack with fundamental marking and a keen eye to the Bayern Munich striking duo of Miroslav Klose and Lukas Podolski.

I will report on the match as it concludes.

Wales aint grabbing anything. Only thing Wales is good as is dreamin. Lost against Russia and Germany. that should shut up the Welsh media and players. it was close but it wasnt. Pulling off an upset – beginning of a new era – only more upsets for Wales against Lietenstein and another era of mediocrity to begin.

The lone striker. Best defense strategy? Or desperate attempt to make something happen? I think the latter. Will it work? No. http://www.soccershop.com
