Wales U-21 loses 2-1 to Romania
Wales U-21 suffered a tough 2-1 loss to Romania as they were unable to finish on numerous opportunities. This puts Wales in a tougher position to qualify for the UEFA Championships as they will need defeat Romania in the return engagement on September 9th.
Brian Flynn can take a great deal from this match as Ched Evans and Gareth Bale were stellar in the attack but suffered from poor finishing. The winning strike was set-up by at Dinamo Bucureşti eighteen year-old striking genius, a future star in the game, Gabriel Torje. Twenty minutes after the break, he neatly curled in a free kick which his Dinamo teammate Adrian Ropotan neatly flicked into the back of the net. Wales came close at drawing the match even but it was to no avail.
This is going to cause a great deal of difficulties in planning for the senior squad because I don’t think they can risk Aaron Ramsey, Gareth Bale and Ched Evans in the return match. Some tough decisions ahead for Wales.
